PE 5 folder view doesn't show managed files

I've just started using the folder location view in PE 5. I've had some really unpleasant things happen trying to use it to move files around and moving files offline. This post is about seeing a folder that has photo files (.jpg) that shows up as empty in folder location view. I thought perhaps they were not imported so did a get files and PE reported that the files weren't imported because they already exist in the catalog. So they ARE managed but not showing up in folder location view.

I have tried doing a reconnect missing files and I have not missing files.

I have tried doing a catalog/repair.

Anyone have any ideas both on what might be happening and what might be the resolution?
