new document size default

Is there way to set the default for opening a new document to the same size everytime it opens? I looked in the preferences but could not see anywhere to set the default? I would like it to automatically open up as 12x12 with 300dpi since that is about 90% of my working size.

If you set the size to what you want, do some work and save your work.
When you do Control N to open new page the dialogue box should be set to the size you set. Click OK and that's it.

this works if I never change the size for a new document. When I open a new document in another size then I have to recreate the 12x12 again the next time I need a document in 12x12

What if you opened your file and saved it as blank 12x12. Then you can open it, do your work, and then save as something else. Next time open the same blank 12x12 file?

I do have a file saved as 12x12 and that is what I am currently doing. Thanks for the input. I just thought there might be a way to get it into the default presets. I also did try downloading the default file and renaming it and putting it in the required file it is there along with the original one. I restarted PSE but it did not show up. Maybe I did something wrong or maybe it does not work with PSE6. Anyway thanks for all your help.

remove the original one - if it's still there, PSE is reading from it. Move it to your desktop (or just delete it).

Graficalicus, I tried this but when I removed the original one and re-opened PSE I did not have any options availiable for any size so I moved it back and I have them all loaded again. Thanks for your help I think I will just change it when needed.

Does PSE 6 support 'actions' ? if it does, write an action to open a new doc at a size of 12 x 12........ Tom :)
