Hi everyone.

I just downloaded the Adobe Elements 6 trial on my iMac this morning and have been tinkering with it. I have a few questions and was hoping to get some help here.

First, what is the best way to oepn up photos in Elements 6? Right now, all my photos are stored in iPhoto '08.

I found this link on the web:

http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20070813153307986

Which works. However, when I view the image in Elements, the picture is very small. When I zoom in on it, the picture gets a little blurry.

Anyone have suggestions? I am sure that must be missing something.

Secondly, i don't want to modify the original photos (at least for now). What is the best way to make copies so I can tinker around with Elements 6 on my Mac.

I'll start there.
Appreciate the help!

-Jason

One more thing I noticed.
When viewing the file in Elements, it says the sizie of the photo is really small. I navigated using bridge and the photo size is 78KB.
But this is being held in iPhotos mini database holder.

Looking at the file on my PC. it is almost 2MB...

Am I missing something?

Regarding Bridge ... I am able to view my iPhoto library from within Bridge and don't have to create the alias described in your link to macosxhints. Is that because I'm using Bridge CS3? Just wondering if there is a difference between that and the version of Bridge that comes with Elements 6, which I don't have.

In regards to your 2nd question(since you found the answer to #1), after pic is open in PSE6 go to file>duplicate and work on the duplicate file. iphoto will need to import the pic in order to create a thumbnail for you to view. A common work flow is to create a file on your desktop(mine is creatively named ToIphoto) and use the file>save as feature to save your edited pics to that file. When I get enough in there to bother with I open iphoto and use the import feature to pull in the pics from that file.
I usually just use bridge to browse my card reader and add on drives as I like the key wording in iphoto for finding things. If iphoto takes up too much memory on your hard drive can buy an external drive and move the library(not the app) to the external drive(just search iphoto help for directions for moving the library). Hope these tips help.

HI! I am trying to decide if I should upgrade to 6.0 for Mac. I have 4.0 and am just learning how to use it. What do you think of 6.0 so far?
I had the same question about viewing the photo. It is so small and then when I enlarge it, it is blurry with the pixels. How did you fix this? Thanks!
