Hi everyone.

I was hoping to get some feedback on basically, the capabilities of what Elements 6 can do.

I recently started to become more and more involved with photography and digital scrapbooking. I really enjoy each of them thoroughly. I purchased a new iMac recently to do my photography work on and just downloaded the elements trial.

Several questions:

-Can someone highlight some of the great features of Elements? I know you can do a lot, but what is the real gem in Elements?

-One thing I was curious about is the ability to add on to elements. For example, my wife and I just took our 10 month old son to Disneyland and had a blast. I took a lot of pictures. Disneyland also took pictures and allows us to buy pictures from them. One of the cool things you can do with their pictures is add graphics to the picture. Say, Mickey Mouse in the corner, or bunch of small characters on the picture. 1) Can you do that with elements?

- Can you add on to elements? Say I could download a disney pack that allowed me to add disney characters to my pictures for fun.

Just a few things I was curious about, seeing if it would be a good thing to buy.

Many thanks.

Jason

The short answer is yes, you can download all kinds of elements with PSE. But to really see what it can do, just go to the Adobe site, get a free trial of it, and have a ball: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelwin/ I'm sure others will answer in greater detail. Shar

To give you a better visual idea what elements can do would be to look at the gallery's located in this web site and see what we are doing.

Any graphic item on your computer can be used on a project in Elements as long as it's a format that Elements recognizes - or if you can change the graphic into a format that Elements recognizes.

For example - I have Scrapbook Factory Deluxe and their graphics are in Nova's proprietary format. But, Factory has the ability to "export" as a jpg - so I can use the graphics in Elements.

Hi Jason,

You can find many good online reviews describing the features of PSE 6.0 by Googling Photoshop Elements 6.0 Features, or something of that nature. Here is one link to such a review:

Jason,
when you get into Elements you will be surprised with what it can do.
Look at some of the galleries and will appreciate the scope of Elements.
It is a steep learning curve but it slowly becomes clear.

PSE has so many gems. Suggest you play with some of the free tutorials in the subscriber area to get an idea.
