Organizing Pictures

My pictures are importing to my old program and PSE. When they import to organizer they are permanently stored there? Do I still need them on my hard drive in my old program? Seems like they are stored in two places.

The images in the Organiser are merely thumbnails of the images stored on your hard drive not duplicates. If you delete pictures off your hard drive they will no longer be in the Organiser! Never delete the pictures from your hard drive unless you want to permanently get rid of them.
