setting crop tool to pixel dimensions

I'd like to have the option to set the crop tool or menu tool dimension in pixels (eg 500 x 750) and be able to move the rectangle. This would make a 100% crop easy to fit according to posting requirements.

Hi Michel-

You're in luck! This is already available. Just enter 500 px x 750 px in the width and height fields in the Options bar after selecting the Crop tool. The "px" will tell Elements to use pixels instead of the default inches. To move the crop rectangle, click and drag inside the box.

Actually, this very question was asked awhile ago by someone else, and may be appearing in a future issue of the Newsletter, in the Q&A column (the ultimate decision on what goes in and what doesn't isn't mine. I just submit and then sit back and see what appears! :D).

This is most interesting. I've always gone to image>resize image and chose the pixel size. This is another tip to keep in my "book of tips". Thanks Mike.
