I have been able to run Premiere Elements 3 with no problem.

I have uninstalled Photoshop Elements 5 and Premiere Elements 3, and installed Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4.

No problems using Photoshop Elements 6.

XP Home Edition with SP2, Pentium 4 3GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, 20 G available on the hard drive

I've updated all the drivers, removed the non-Microsoft services, and followed all of the other suggestions.

When I try to load Premiere Elements 4, the colored disk/circle appears, and I see the various "loading" messages. After that, nothing happens.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the product several times.

I need to get back to work on some videos, and this has been extremely frustrating! Please let me know if there is anything else to try.

Thank you.

Any other suggestions?

If you have not done so already, check out the following AdobeTech Note on troubleshooting installation problems in Premiere Elements 4
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb402370&sliceId=1

You say that you have 512 MB RAM and 20 GB of free hard drive space. Those numbers should not get you too far for most projects. So, let me know how you managed previously, small projects???? no performance issues at all???? When I installed Premiere Elements 2 with 512 MB RAM and about 50 GB free hard drive space, I managed to install the program, but could not get the Help to open. After all else failed, going to 1 GB RAM resolved that my problem.

Also, are you installing from an installation DVD disc or did you purchase the program online? You have optimized your computer..defragmentation, virtual memory, etc.??????

Adobe has free Technical Support for installation problems related to recent purchases of the current version. If the AdobeTech Note cited does not help to resolve the problem, you may want to explore your rights under that Adobe policy. But, have all your program and computer details compiled before you do so.

Let us know what happens and how you managed Photoshop Elements 5 and Premiere Elements 3 with 512 MB RAM and 20 GB free hard drive space.
