Hi all--I'm new to this goldmine of info!! I want to create a mosaic-like effect on a photo, choping it into 1" squares that I can outline and tilt randomly. I know in Photoshop, you can use the "slice" command, but in PSE 5 I can't figure out how to achieve the same thing.
I've already used the marquee tool to choose the squares on the grid of my original photo and cut them into new layers and duplicated into a new file. Is there a simpler way?
I love the look in my traditional albums and want to try to recreate in my digital ones (I like the look following the advice of http://www.tamipotter.com/ ) THANX!

I don't think you'll find a simpler way in PSE. The main diff between PSE and Photoshop seems to be needing to do more work(but spend less money). Not as much automated stuff. You've found a good work around.

You might try one of Panos actions, there are a lot of free ones for Photoshop and Elements. This one seems close to what you are looking for. http://www.panosfx.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=138

There is also a template here free if you sign up on her site. Looks like it is close to what you might want.

I appreciate your help--haven't been on the forum for a while. Heart to heart has some nice stuff I've already gotten and I signed up for access to all the new items. The PanosFX site is awesome--some really cool actions I can't wait to load! Thanx again!

There is multi photo window custom shape at the adobe exchange and I'm sure Jessica Sprague had a tutorial on making a grid for photos on her site I will see if I can find a link for you.
