This is the kind of thing I fear most about street photography.

Don't you dare take my picture! (http://www.whirljack.net/jeremybrooks/2008/05/06/if-you-put-that-picture-on-the-internet-ill-call-my-lawyer/)

Interesting. I'm not sure I would have the nerve to snap while someone was acting that way but this guy really looks like a jerk. Nice shot under pressure.

I'm sort of torn on this.

First I think people deserve to be left alone and not bothered. If they ask nicely not to have their picture taken it should be respected. Just because someone has a right to do something doesn't make it right.

On the other hand. The guy in this story would have his hands full if he got in my face. I hate a bully and I love putting a bully in his place. As soon as he walked up and bumped into me he'd be picking himself up off the ground with a dazed look on his face like what the hell just happened.

My husband has been shooting street photography for years and has gotten into some pretty sticky situations. Fortunately I am not usually with him!! He always asks permission before he takes a picture.

Once he was in an alley in a depressed neighborhood in Chicago and was being cornered by a gang when the the Guardian Angels (safety patrol) appeared and took him to safety.

We were on vacation a couple of years ago and he went to a carnival (I went to Sea World), found some street-type people to photograph, asked their permission, took their pictures and then they decided to call the police. Since he still shoots with film instead of confiscating his camera the police took his film and let him leave!!

Those are only a couple of his "sticky times" but his outings have produced some great pictures some of which are hanging up in our living room!!
