Hi,
The day I registered in the forum, I clicked "Remember me" at log-in. Yet, it never worked. Every time I log-in, I have to re-enter my username and password. Again and again, I click that option and nothing hapens. Is it supposed to be like that?
I have no problem with the log-in at PET. I checked "Remember me" the first time I logged in and that did the trick.

Hello Sepiana,

Welcome to the Village!

I am sorry you are having problems logging in. I also use "Remember Me" and it works fine for me. I have no idea what your problem is. I do hope someone will be able to have an idea to help you.

You may want to try "remember" right after you post your screen name. Or after "password".

It could be the stuff is also case sensitive. Try shifting between cases. I've had that problem on some of the sites I use.

Good luck.

Hi,
Thanks for trying to solve this problem. Before I initiated this thread, I had already checked my security, cookies, and AutoComplete settings, case-sensitiveness, etc. What is intriguing is this problem occurs only here. I visit several websites (including PET) which require a log-in and I don't have this problem--the "remember me" always works.

The only thing I can think of, is that I didn't activate the "remember me" feature when I registered. But, this should not cause the problem, because according to the FAQ, you can select this option when you log-in.

I feel really bad I began this thread. I just thought someone else would be having the same problem. But it seems this event is unique to me. I don't want to annoy anyone by wasting their time and expertise on something so trivial. I will try the possible solutions.

1. Continue to log-in manually and consider it an exercise for my fingers.
2. Log-in only when I want to post a message or upload a photo.
3. Log-in and stayed logged-in even I am not visiting the forum (not a good idea).
4. Look at this event with a good sense of humor: Could this lead to a conspiracy theory? What about a case for the X-Files? (Calling Mulder and Scully!)

3. Log-in and stayed logged-in even I am not visiting the forum (not a good idea).

That's your problem. Remember me keeps you logged in between visits, that's its sole function. If you log out you lose that benefit. There is no problem with staying logged in unless you're on a publicly shared computer (such as at the library or something). If you'd like the technical explanation of how this feature works, please let me know.

You can think of "remember me" to mean "keep me logged in".

Thanks, thanks, thanks to Jon, the all around nice guy. You just made my day.
"Remember me" just remembered me.
And I promise you, I'll always remember this. What a shame! I thought I was unique -- conspiracy? X-Files case? -- no, just sheer stupidity.

Thanks again!

I'm so glad Jon came on. I've been scratching my head and had given all I knew, not a lot. If any one could have helped you it was Jon. The all 'round good guy is fast approaching great.
