First let me say that this forum is the tops! I woke up this morning intending to post two or three queries but by doing a couple of searches and being a bit brave and experimental I have found out the answers I was looking for!

When you normally apply a drop shadow it only does it on two sides. Is there a way of flipping it and redoing it on the other two sides or is the only way to get a drop shadow on all four sides to follow Wendy's excellent mini tutorial and do a black fill layer/gaussian blur? (Wendy your tutorials are brilliant, especially when accompanied by screen shots - Thanks!)

I'm not sure if I undestand this correctly.. duplicate the source layer (the object on which you want to apply the drop shadow).

Apply the drop shadow on the first layer. Make sure to uncheck the Global Light setting.

Apply the drop shadow on the second layer, this time use the opposite angle for the light direction (say, if the first was 120, then the second will -60). Also, again, make sure the Global ligthing is unchecked.

You'll have your shadow on four side.

Thanks Ray,

It took me a while to find where to adjust the settings for the layer styles, but I've sussed it out now!
