Hi everyone. I am brand new here on this site. I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 a couple of years back. I have used it a bit to work on digital photos from my Nikon D70S. I am an old time film photographer who would love to get some direction as to what I need to do to get updated and be able to do more things with my digital photos such as collages etc. I may need new software, online tutorials, and possibly subscribe to a news magazine to help me learn different techniques. I am open to any suggestions.

Hi ...
... and welcome to the Village :)
I would suggest that you start by subscribing to PET ... with the subscription you get 8 newsletters a year and access to the subscribers area. Last time I counted there were over 200 Video Tutorials and around 120 written ones and they add to them on a regular basis ..
There are a couple of sample Videos that you can look at before you decide and here is the link:

Hi Camera Bug,
Welcome fellow D70s owner to the friendliest place on the net for all things Photoshop Elements (PSE). I would suggest if your style of learning gravitates towards book learning that you buy a good one and work your way through it. Since you have PSE 4.0, the book I use in my class would probably be ideal. It is The Digital Photographer's Guide to Photoshop Elements 4, by Barry Beckham. This is a project orientated book that teaches you by example. I particularly like the step by step approach Barry uses to explain his projects.
I have PowerPoint slides and teaching notes to go along with the above book and would be glad to help you out in your quest to master PSE.
If you like a more traditional textbook where each topic is discussed in detail before moving on to the next one try: Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0, A Visual Introduction to Digital Photography by Philip Andrews. Although it is PSE 5.0, most everything will work in 4.0. Unlike Barry's book, this one is not project driven, however, there are tons of examples to follow.
Cheers,
Bob
