Good-day,
Well, in order to not overload Premiere , I 've taken two 40 minute projects and saved them separately under the "export movie" selection and now I've brought them back into a third "combo" project on the timeline. They look and work fine, one just follows the other on the timeline. I have been trying to make each project a separate "scene" in a menu template, however, I can not get a DVD title template to come up on the monitor. When I try and drag a template across, as I've always done in the past, the cursor becomes a clinched fist with an "X" over the fist.
I must be doing something different, (and wrong), this time. Any suggestions or help will be appreciated.
Thanks, Tom B.

Good Afternoon Tom,
First, what specific DVD template are you using?
Next, if dragging the template from the Template Display Area to the Monitor is not working, what happens if:
1. you click on the DVD template of choice (gives a blue border around indicating selected), followed by clicking on the Apply button? Same, no go?
I have never encountered the no go icon that you described.
Do I understand this correctly. All you have on the Timeline is:
1. 40 minute video in the form of a DV AVI.
2. Another 40 minute video in the form of a DV AVI
3. These two DV AVIs are running one after the other
4. You have a scene marker (green) at the beginning of the first
5. You have a scene marker (green) at the beginning of the second
I am getting off main issue here, but you realize that with what I described above:
1. When you press Play on the Main Menu, you will get playback from beginning of first 40 minute segment until the end of the second 40 minute segment. When you press Scene Selection, if you select the first "scene" on the Scene Menu page, you will get playback of the "works". And, if you select the second "scene", then you will just get the second 40 minutes segment. So, pressing Play on the Main Menu is going to give you the same result as selecting Scene Selection on the Main Menu and then clicking on "Scene One" on the Scene Menu page. Is that what you want? Have you thought through the alternative of using the Bonus Item on the Main Menu to offer the second 40 minute segment separate from the first?
Although those are considerations, right now they should not be impacting the target issue. Also, are you certain that you have an active screen? You are not hung up while the project waits for some type of confirming/committing signal from you?
Maybe first respond to my initial questions/suggestions and then we can go into these other details if needed.

ATR,
Thanks again for coming to my rescue. I was so shocked when I saw the problem, I just assumed that I was doing something wrong.
Well, here's what I eventually did. I loaded the whole project onto my 500 gig EHD and took it upstairs to my computer. Then, everything worked fine. .......:o My wife's computer has been doing strange things for the past couple of weeks in that different program projects will not burn properly.
Her internal HD is making a very noticable "lunging" sound. Much like I remember a window air conditioner from years ago with too small an electrical extension chord...
Know-what-I-mean ? I guess the HD is about to fail.
Well, I do appreciate, very much, your efforts to help.
regards, Tom :)

Glad to hear that everything is moving forward with your project. Hope everything resolves itself OK with your wife's computer without her losing any of her documents in a crash. All the good stuff backed up?
