Great job Nancy! Your dog is a terrific model - ours would never sit for a portrait like that! :) (I mean before you altered it)

You are probably right - I never tried to tie Bonzo down with strings on his ears - may have made a big difference.

You are so kind! Pauline, I don't think you had anything to worry about - yours is awesome! It was fun but my daughter thinks it's really creepy because her Auggie does not look right and won't look at it. You all did a great job on the masks.

Very nice, Nancy. That beak looks like it belongs on the little guy (it doesn't, right?)

You know, I'd just like to say to everyone that it's so refreshing to see all the kind words and compliments to Pauline and others on their work, whether it be the result of much practice, the efforts of a beginner, or somewhere in the middle of those.

In so many arenas of society, such sentiment is crowded out by envy, anger, and defensiveness.

It's one of the things I've really enjoyed during my short time here; the friendliness and willingness to help and share knowledge--not to mention the great help and ideas.

So, anyway, thanks, all.

Oh, but I do agree with you Mike. There is no resentment, and if anything, I have found that everyone has shared my joy with me and because the site was having problems, I didn't even know I had won. I received an e-mail of congratulations from Sherry! It truly is wonderful to be here where everyone is so caring and so eager to help and share! It makes the world of difference. It also makes the learning process so much quicker and enjoyable. I love you guys!

Mike, we don't allow "envy, anger, and defensiveness" here. This is our world that we can actually control and keep/make 'nice' ...unlike other places in the world.

Marti, the bird dog is really neat ! What a great idea ! Sorry you missed the deadline.

Pauline, I know what you mean about not knowing that you won...same thing happened to me when i won the collage challenge. Grant sent me a ' Congrats' e-mail and i had no idea what he was talking about...later on that day I checked the forum only to find I had won. It was an 'doh!' day ;) Your mask is really grand. Well done. So what are you going to do with 'another' WACOM tablet ? Wanna trade something for it ? My daughter wants a tablet in the worst way :)

Thanks Jodi, your compliments mean a lot! Now for the tablet.......yes, I have one, and this win is something my kids will be enjoying. I had been watching e-bay to get them a tablet. All 3 kids are creative, and both girls have their own digital cameras, so they will reap the rewards from this win. After their initial, 'try' on my tablet, I have selfishly kept it to myself. I also don't like the 14 year old on my computer since the brat went in and deleted some pictures of herself from it!! (and I thought elements did it!!). I put Painter on their computer but they never use it as it's pretty useless with the mouse. This way it will get use.

Pauline, well that's great...guess I'll keep searching too. Your daughter deleted pics ?? OMG ! She must have really thought they were bad. I'll know I'll never have to worry about that...my daughter loves to see pics of herself on my computer...the more the better. She's so stuck on herself...and she's 7 !!! She definietly didn't get that from me. Must be from 'his' side of the family. ;) Enjoy your win !

I can't imagine Painter without a tablet ! This software is dependent on pressure, it makes really no sens to use it with only a mouse.

Congratulations again !!

Jodi, I do believe we have had this conversation before! In another 7 years you won't recognize your daughter!! Enjoy her now. My daughter is 14 and NOTHING like she was when she was young. (well okay, the stubborness is still there, and the need to socialize, but she's not the chatty happy kid she was). Some of the pictures were of her alone and some had her and a girl on her 'hate' list. All I can say is I'll be glad when this year is over. Please, it can only get better, can't it?

Ray, not only is Painter useless with a mouse, but the mouse isn't even an optical one!! I HATE going on their computer to do anything. :( One that tablet is hooked up though they'll be able to use that mouse and there will be no turning back after that. I might try and put elements on for them too, but I have a feeling it might not work that well since the computer is older.

Elements works on fairly old computer. I installed it on a PowerPC 6100 (a Macintosh with 96MB of RAM and OS 9.2) and it worked just fine.

Albeit a little... slow... at the very least.. :)

Ray
P.S. It's a 1995 computer...

they have 256 ram so they should be okay. I just tell them to make sure that they delete all the songs they down load after burning to cd since it hogs up a lot of space on the computer. thanks ray.
