i loaded the camera raw update on my desk top now how do i load into elements 6,0?

Is 4.4.1 installable in PE6 for Mac? The updater keeps prompting me to download and install it but when I try it goes part of the way through the process and then give me the message "Updater is unable to locate the product to be updated." And in fact the Adobe web page for 4.4.1 for Mac mentions only PSE 4 for Mac, not 6. I suppose I could install it manually (i.e. by dragging into the plug-in folder) but don't want to if it's not compatible. I just wonder why Updater doesn't know not to prompt me to to install it.

At least in the PC version the Updater does not work with ACR. It needs to be installed manually, probably on a Mac, too. Go to the Adobe site (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3895) and follow the instructions.

Thanks, the ReadMe file is a clearer than the web page itself that 4.4.1 does work with PE6 for Mac. I shouldn't have expected Updater to be smarter than the wizards on this forum or know its own limitations!

Up until a few days ago I would have agreed with you. Each time Updater tried to download/install 4.4.1 it choked and gave me an error message about a PSE file being active (I don't recall the exact verbiage but other users have described here also). I could never find the guilty process in Task Manager. Recently, however, Updater did sucessfully download/install ACR 4.4.1 without incident. I haven't changed my system or PSE or CS3 setup so I don't know why it finally worked, but I'm grateful.
