View Full Version : Need help with mouse in PSE

I recently had to get a new hard drive and subsequently have had to reinstall all programs, etc. including PSE v.6. Since then, my mouse behaves properly EXCEPT when I'm working in PSE. I have to move it a long way on the mouse pad to move it a little bit on the monitor.
I have Windows XP, have reinstalled the mouse software twice, and configured the mouse. Could this be a PSE issue, or should I be looking for support from the mouse company (Logitech) or Windows??
Thanks for any help - I need it!

Rosemary,
What type of mouse do you have: USB, wireless, some other type of connection...???
I am not a big fan of Logitech since I had a similar experience with one of their USB Microphones. I have gone through at least two Belkin USB mice and cannot move the cursor out of a corner of the Window. Yet, I have no problems with other brands of USB mice. Microsoft brand has been a winner for me. For the microphone, I went to another manufacturer and used a direct connect to the computer instead of USB.
First thing, go to Control Panel/Mouse and check the mouse properties and configuration. Best thing would be if you had another mouse to try for comparison (non Logitech).
Are you confident that the problem is confined to the Photoshop Elements program? If so, I am thinking that it could be a driver conflict problem???? Any possibility, that your system resources are being stressed out when you open Photoshop Elements 6...checked out System Requirements, RAM, free hard drive space, last time you defragmented, and all that???
Let me know what happens.

Thx, ATR for responding.
My mouse is wireless and I do have another mouse, altho it also is Logitech, but I'll try it. I've checked the properties and they're ok. I have more than adequate system requirements so that's not it. Probably a driver conflict, but I'm not sure how to go about resolving that or who to call. Maybe a new mouse would be the easiest choice!
