I just read about it online, as I was asleep during the quake. I am about 330 miles from the area. (Looked it up on Streets and Trips)

We are near Jackson in SE Michigan. My DH Don saw the report on the news this morning and then he recalled he woke up to a rumbling feeling at around 5 am this morning that reminded him of thunder, but never gave it a second thought. He said our dog Sophie got up and stood at the foot of the bed and then turn around and laid back down. I slept on and didn't hear or feel a thing.

I am from IL and it woke me up shaking my bed and few things on the dresser. A friends lives in Mr. Carmel, IL and things on their walls and bookselves came down. I thought we has another minor one rattling my china cabinet doors about 30 minutes ago. Here is a clip from a news story....

The quake is believed to have involved the Wabash fault, a northern extension of the New Madrid fault about 6 miles north of Mt. Carmel, Ill., said United States Geological Survey geophysicist Randy Baldwin.
Nancy Marti did you feel it?

Vesta - you probably did feel an aftershock - one was reported around 11:00

DS2 lives near downtown Chicago and he was awoken by the original quake. He knew right away what was happening - knowledge gained while living in the SF Bay Area for 4 years.

And yes, we were there during the quakes of "89 - and yes, streets do undulate. It's an awesome sight.

I live in Indianapolis and was asleep and the whole bed began to shake and woke me up....scary for us here in the midwest because we hardly ever have an earthquake...the last one was in 1987.

Yeah it woke me up this morning. I actually think I felt a slight pre-tremor because I heard our dining room floor creak - like when someone walks across it. It scared me because I was afraid someone was in the house. Then a few minutes later the "big" one hit and it sounded like our walls were coming down. The bird went nuts flying all over my daughter's room and Sophie dived under the bed. It was pretty scary. I was sitting at the computer about 10:15 when the strong aftershock hit and my monitor started bouncing up and down. Things fell over on the bookcase too. No other damage I'm aware of. I asked my husband to come back home (he was on his way to work) and check the house. They are so rare here in the midwest that people totally freak when we get one. The morning news devoted the entire 2 hours to nothing but coverage of every little crack and brick that fell. Funny thing - we have coons that ocassionally get in our attic. I thought maybe there were a couple of them fighting up there because it sounded like the walls were being scratched (probably cracking) and a thud but I think that was a couple books falling on the bookcase.

I also live in west Michigan. I couldn't sleep well and that is when a heard a loud noice, but no tremor. Many people here just heard the noise, but no tremor.
