Hi everyone! After help getting started from Wendy, Pauliine, and Carol, I've managed to make three creations. I welcome your comments; they're pretty basic (and now I'm off to do another tutorial...)

Hi Kay ...
You have done really well with those ...congratulations.
I especially like "At the Ocean" ... it really is a good fun creation with lovely little photographs.
Only suggestions I would make are when you do the stroke around the small images set the stroke to inner ... that way you get crisp outlines without rounded corners. Also why not try a drop shadow on them ... it may work or it may not but its worth a try.
I bet you are so pleased with the results ... well done!!!

Thanks for the feedback! And thanks for the tips on the strokes; that's exactly the kind of thing I need to learn. I'll try out the drop shadows too. There's so many things to try/learn.

Kay ...
You are doing really well ...
If you want to add a drop shadow all you need to do is click on the layer you want the shadow to be on and then so to the Styles and Effects palette. Select layer styles>Drop shadows ... just click on them and see what looks best :)
Once you have applied the drop shadow you can click on the little (f) that now appears in the layers palette (next to the thumbnail) and make any adjustments you need to.
Enjoy :)

I promise that I won't be such a pest once I am more proficient at this, but I'd appreciate your feedback on the latest two I put in my gallery. I tried out drop shadows and experimented with one of the frame tutorials I found.
