Hi! Please help me! I have created a slideshow in PSE 6.0. Put it in a WMV format, set the output profile to DVD NTSC to convert the WMV file to TV/DVD viewing and it saves great! But when I send it to PE it gains apprx. 2 seconds and it messes the music all up!! this would not really be a problem for me, but I am doing this for a friend who wants the songs to hit at exactly a certain point (he;s an engineer). Also when I then burn it to a DVD even though I have used the fade in and fade outs it is leaving a gap in the music.
One more thing to, I was wondering why if I add a slide and then delete a slide (same photo just one is edited better) does it mess the whole timeline up? it seems that if you deleted a slide, but then added a slide with the same veiwing time that it wouldn't matter?
What am I doing wrong?!??
thaanks!!!

The best method is to use the 'Send To Premiere Elements' command, not converting to WMV. If you must convert to WMV then you should convert that file to DV-AVI using Windows Movie Maker before opening in Premiere Elements, there is a tutorial on doing the conversion here http://muvipix.com/products.php?page=3&maincat_id=7&subcat_id=10

First, in your case, forget about the “Send To Premiere Elements” output option (the non wmv route). Reason: if you have Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 3, it is not an option. That option only exists if you have the specific combinations of:
Photoshop Elements 5 and Premiere Elements 3
OR
Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4
As for the “mess up” in the importing of the wmv slideshow into Premiere Element…
1. You say it saves great, but how does the wmv slideshow play in Windows Media Player?
2. How large is this slideshow…number of photos (pixels dimensions, over 1000 x 750 pixels), videos (minutes/hours)…there could be a problem in the writing of the wmv if you are using a lot of grossly oversized images.
3. Is your operating system Windows XP or Vista? If you have Vista with its Windows DVD Maker, try burning the wmv slideshow to DVD-VIDEO with it instead.
4. When you are in Premiere Elements 3 with the messed up slideshow from Photoshop Elements 6, is there a red line that runs across the top of the Timeline. To get a decent Preview of what you have, you need to Rendering by pressing the Enter key on the computer main keyboard. This can be very time consuming, but is necessary to get a good preview. When the rendering of the Timeline is finished, there will be a green line running across the top of the Timeline. This rendering impacts the quality of the Preview and not the actual quality of the final product DVD-VIDEO. Have you taken what looks like messed up projects through the DVD-VIDEO process. If so, does the DVD-VIDEO playback on the TV reflect these problems?
5. You could try converting the wmv to DV AVI with Windows Movie Maker before importing it into Premiere Elements, but that should not really be necessary under normal circumstances.
Check out the following how to for using Windows Movie Maker and other related matters:

About adding and/or replacing images from the Timeline…take a look at the following thread:

Review: right clicking a gap and selecting “delete and close gap” as well as holding down the Alt key in the replacement of a photo on the Timeline as described in the above link.
Let us start here and see where that leads.
