I love LR for its Processing capability but have never been impressed with its Organisational abilities. Maybe its a mindset thing with me, having used Elements for so long. I find the process of adding keywords to images pretty good in LR but the ability to locate an image leaves much to be desired. LR B2 has brought some improvements in that area, though.
So, maybe you can share with me how you are using LR keywording.
1. Do you use a hierarchy?
2. Do you use the Keyword Sets?
3. Do you keyword on import?
4. Have you ever re-organised your keywords?
5. How do you locate specific images?

Check this article from Lightroom News:

for a description of filtering/searching in Lr 2.0.
Keywords will be much more powerful tools in this new version.

Tom....
Thanks for the reply. I've been playing with LR2 since it was released and it does have some improvements but its still a lot of work to locate images compared with the easy to use interface of Elements. The Filter bar while being powerful also takes up a lot of screen real estate.

I agree - for as much work as they've put into keywording in LR - and I always add keywords as I import - once you have a ton of photos under one keyword it's just not a quick way to locate an image.
I'm glad they've improved it in LR2 - but it looks as though the whole process still needs a makeover.
Maybe I'm not doing everything correctly but the way I look at it, if I've already one through a few tutorials on the subject, use the software everyday and still rely mostly on my memory to find the photos I want, then the software isn't intuitive enough as far as image location.
Still love LR though - I'm glad to see they're backing it up with a new release.
