I shoot a lot of sports and I use a FZ20. I have noise and wanted to know the best way to get rid of it. I have a few noise programs but they seem to soften the picture a lot. Should I be removing the noise before or after the other sharpening and levels etc... ? The noise program part of the elements program does not seem to work very well or is it just me?
Any help would be great!!!!!

Hi there ...
... and welcome to the forum :)
Noise can be a problem especially when shooting sports ... and all noise removal techniques work by softening the image.
Have you done the online classes? ... The Digital Photography Workflow one by Scott Kelby shows you how to reduce noise using Elements. It certainly is worth doing ... it walks you through the stages of dealing with digital images and shows you all sorts of techniques for turning so-so images into good ones :)

Hi, welcome!
There was an interesting thread about this a week or so ago I think with a discussion about shooting volley ball games. Find it here:

Hope this helps :)

I noticed in the post that It ended up with the extra program doing the noise reduction. Any comment on what noise program is beter. Noiseware community or Neat Image?
What settings work the best for you with the extra programs and do you work the noise reduction first or last?
