Several of you gave me some ideas for starting a set of heritage pages.

Here's my first effort, a picture of my grandmother when she was in her early 20s.

Any feedback and suggestions much appreciated! It's a learning curve!

Val,
I like what you have done. Since this is a heritage page I would put some type of jounaling information as to who she is in reference to you or place in family heritage.

I guess that would be helpful! :) Our immediate fam is so small, I figure everyone knows her...but down the generations...

I think it is really pretty and I love the photo. I'd like a bit more color, though. Maybe add a touch more lavender to the paper that is behind the image?

What a wonderful page! Yes a little journalling would be great so she can be "tied" to other people in the family. Believe me, as a genealogist, that is very crucial generations down the road.

Your page composition is fantastic. I love the "sassy" photo - very cool.

I would like to see a little more color, but it also works for me as you have done it. You could add some simple colored lines around the photo - if you wanted to bring more purple onto the page.

But the journaling? Remember you are doing your heritage album for the future - and some of the info will be lost as time passes. You have some great space left for journaling. How about some thoughts of what this woman meant to the family?

Janice..."what this woman meant to the family..." wow. So much!!!

I will add a journaling section. Right now I'm feeling sad that my cousins little kids won't ever know her (my grandma...their great-grandma). She was really special!

Thanks, everyone, for the ideas and encouragement!
