Hey,
How come they used on your real names on the mask entries & mine has my "user name". I did enter by my real name. But I guess you all figured out it was me anyway.
(after all it IS all about me)

Just curious!

Eva,
Thank you, it's very simple compared to others. Wendy made me do it. I had a different idea when I started & ended up with that??? Those are my real cats eyes.

Wendy, you're always so darn fast!! I'm tired tonight and just checking my mail. It's magazine reading night, and hopefully tomorrow after shopping I'll get something done.

I'm also doing maintenance on the kids computer. SOMEBODY, keeps turning off the virus software and so far it has found 1 virus. Lectures will be given out tonight when the girls get home!!

Pauline,

You could always create a non-administrator account for your kids, and major anti-virus software have the option of being unable to get disable if used by non-administrator user.

Ray, I had that darn computer set up with me as the administrator and the kids no access to it, but the problem was they couldn't down load anything unless they went under the admin account. That included their digital camera software, etc. It was just such a pain. Daughter #2 already got the lecture, and the other one will get hers when she comes in, but I suspect it's not her doing it. She doesn't know enough about the computer as my second daughter. So far we're up to 3 virus'!! I am so glad that they don't have access to my computer. I told them any problems or repairs that are caused by their carelessness they will pay for. My 14 year old is the one that spends the most time on there, on MSN.

I think it's just sad when a kid's toy becomes also a tool in exploiting the same kid's innosence.

It is sad. My kids get the drill all the time..well they used to ..son is out and daughter lost a few things on her comp..way more careful now.

When they were a lot younger I used to ask them who the other person they were online with (posting messages ..whatever) was pretending to be. They got the hint really fast.. I made it like a joke but they realized I was right, and I hope they thought about it all the time.

For them it is a social thing (weird.. ok maybe not so weird  )They have their own websites and chat all the time...just fun for them. :)

The problem with the internet is that it's really hard to keep track of what the kids are doing. I used to save to MSN chats to the temp file, and check them once in a while, but my some times too bright child figured that one out. Once in a while I do a history check too, and now that she's in high school with a pile of new friends I don't know who most of them are any more and at 14 she just gives me snotty, "you don't know them" replies. It sure is killing her tonight that she can't go on since the virus scan has been running for hours!! Maybe I'll have to start running it at night as a way to keep her off. and as punishment for turning the auto scan off!

That's too bad Thomas. There's plenty of time for girl friends later! I would rather my daughter didn't have a boyfriend but she's determined to have one!
