Thanks Dave, Matt and Scott for picking me. I feel so honoured. I really struggled with this and the ideas, and it looks like it paid off!! My husband wants to go out and get Chinese food tomorrow. I told him, "honey, I won a tablet not money."

Gary, I have to say that I found yours hilarious. You need a shave.

Yup, got my goodies. I notice one tomb stone says Matt and one says Dave, but Scott doesn't have his name on his. Guess he's superstitious.

Wendy, my stomach is getting upset watching him!! To many flips for me.

Thanks Gary. I'll try to remain on level ground. When's the next challenge. I've never won anything except in Feb. one of my pictures of my dog was an honourable mention, so this is special. It's too bad the tablet didn't come with PSE 4 though rather than 3!! That will give me 2 copies of 3 and one of 2 that I got with my intuos.

Late congrats, just makes the joy last longer!!! Were you serious about the old roll of film? Did you photograph all of the elements fo your design or create them....great job...you have inspired me to try my hand at the next challenge...Great day here in AR. 50 degrees warming to 65 and glorious sunshine after a nice rain last night! Our fall is finally here! bye

Pauline
November 1st, 2005, 10:57 AM
Thanks Kev.

Yes, I was serious about the film. I pulled it out of the roll (I don't have a film camera anymore) and photographed it. The circuit board background was also a photo I got off the net. The camera pieces were from my camera. The model was my daughter's boyfriend. He's what I started with. I did another one of him is on Grant's challenge

He really is a cute kid! LOL And a good sport.

Pauline!!!! The one on Gran't challenge is a hoot!! I think you are right in that he will want both to be printed...guys really love that sort of stuff...He is a great sport! Thanks for the info on 'how you did it'!

Pauline

Suzanne, the one on Grant's challenge is far from realistic and I really didn't get the 'bouncing eye' to look realistic like I wanted, but it was fun. I don't even know what all I did to his bald head. It started out just making him bald but the skin 'looked' cloned, so I used the plastic wrap filter and a couple others and added some blue veins, more beard stubble, brains from a picture. LOL It was just a fun thing to do. I showed my daughter what he looked like bald before the bubble head look just in case he does go bald.

Wendy

Pauline ...

I have quite a good way of making people bald ... I haven't time to write it out now but I will try and do it later today or tomorrow .. :)

I haven't had a chance yet to view the Challenge images either but will try to do that today as well ...

I used to be as enthusiastic as you. I lost it somewhere along the way!! I would have had half my shopping done by none. I have NOTHING done. I'm afraid to even ask the kids what they want. Of course as teens they change their minds so much it's better to wait anyway. I won't even go into the expense of it all!

Jodi Frye
November 2nd, 2005, 12:38 PM
Pauline, ya, I know the feeling. Last Christmas I was in such a bummer mood. I certainly would not have even bothered with the tree(or Christmas) if I didn't have the children. Tho I regret the fact that I was so low last year and I wish I could go back as I didn't take any photos of my kids at Christmas last year. At the time I just was in a very dark place and couldn't care less about anything. The family album is missing Christmas of '04 and I feel like a total shit every time I look at it. How will I explain this to them when they are older and notice it. Maybe I'll get lucky and they wont. Regardless...that's in the past and I will try like hell to keep the black days away this season...tho I have already made up my mind that I will capture the holiday no matter what. Kids are little for only a very short time so it's my duty to do things right.

Pauline
November 2nd, 2005, 02:39 PM
Jodi, your kids are probably more in tune to you than you realize. At that young age, they notice a lot. It's when they're teens they become so self absorbed. I'm sure they'll understand that it's something beyond your control.

Hey Jodi, do you realize you just had your first anniversary of being a member of this forum? Sorry to hear of your black days last year at Christmas. I think a lot of people have had those kind of days, even at Christmas especially. I hope this year is much better for you. Oh, Pauline, congrats on your mask. I haven't seen it, just heard about it. Now you're in the same league as Wendy & Jodi. Don't look too far down your nose at the rest of us.

Thanks Brian! Don't worry, I won't look down my nose at anyone. I still have a long way to go to catch up to Wendy and Jodi, but I'm sure having fun working at it. Nothing like a little competition to get you going.

Pauline, ya, thanks for reminding me....a year or two ago during one of those times my daughter said to me " I want my old mommy back "...that killed me. I thought I was good at hidding it...obviously you cannot fool everyone all of the time. So anyways, let's stop talking about this. Maybe Dave will come up with some kind of nice Christmas cheer challenge to get us into the spirit :)

e-mailsucks must have a better name than that ?? :) No, has it been a year already ?? Sheeeesh, well, I guess that explains the new wrinkles i found this morning. Time sucks ! That's what sucks !

Childsplay904
November 2nd, 2005, 05:26 PM
Jodi....just leave 2004 in the past. You can't change it....just use it to learn from. Determine ahead of time how you will deal with those dark days the next time and be diligent about following your plan. Put your 'worry' energy into something positive. Your kids will honor you for your attitude and your overcoming spirit....Merry Christmas!!!

Ah Jodi, you really make me laugh. You know how to avoid wrinkles... die young. I think I'll take the wrinkles. Suzanne is right, we've all been there, and believe me, I know. What can sometimes make your life a little brighter is too go visit people that are less fortunate than you. It really makes you realize what you do have. After hurricane Katrina and those poor Americans who lost what little they had, made me feel like a king. Me and my wife aren't rich, but what we have we sure appreciate. Remember, life is just a journey to learn from. Please take care, you're too nice to be hurting.

Brian
