Has anyone figured out how to contact the staff who support the Adobe Photoshop Elements Technique? Some websites have a link called Contacts which enables one to communicate with the staff who maintain the website.
Why might you ask, I am still having problems using the download. Someone was nice enough to send me directions but the folders that they mentioned weren't in my Adobe folder.
In addition how do I know what's specifically in the download in order to confirm that my actions actually worked? Who know I may have already been successful but don't recognize success since I don't know how many choices were in the frames dropdown to beging with???

Are you talking about the downloads in the subscribers area at PET? If so, please let us know which ones you are downloading and we can guide you along and also let you know what should be in them.

The downloads that I'm trying to work with are frame_styles1 and parchment-edges.
A poster tried giving me some directions but the folders that they referenced were not in my Adobe folder. I did do a standard install when I installed Elements 6.0

Are you looking in the correct place? It's easy to look in Program Files>Adobe>PSE6 etc by mistake, when the pathway is like this:

I tried finding a folder structure that looked similar to the one pasted in the posting without success. I'm surprised as I did a standard install when I got Elements 6. I previously had Elements 5 and did an upgrade which I think was really an uninstall 5.0 and an install 6.0.
What target folders am I looking for? If I knew the target I could do a search then place the downloaded files in the target folder.
Interestingly I tried finding the editor and a catelog folder and couldn't find either. I did find an application called editor but no folder for either.
Is anyone feeling my frustratin???

Maybe it would help if I could spell frustration..

You need to go right to the tope level of your computer structure ... then take it from there :)

And remember that by default in Windows those folders are hidden ones so you have to show them. In XP you go Start>My Computer>Tools>View and check the Show Hidden Files anf Folders box.

Thanks to TonyW and Wendy I made some progress. But to be honest with you the more I think about this process the more confused I get.
For example, the download area in PET offers downloads that expand on the number of choices that we have in Elements. I may be showing my inexperience but I have no way of knowing what's included in the download files. At the same time I don't use Elements enough to know all the choices in any one category. So if I did know which folder to put the download contents into how would I know if it were working?
I really do think that the PET editors should include some description of the contents of the file, not just a name like frames, and should identify the folder that the download should be loaded into, to take this one step farther, they should have a table that includes the target folder by Elements Verions, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0.
Lastly the folder indicates that it has been compressed. Do we need to decompress it before putting it into the folder or does the download process kick off a decompression process?
Lot's of questions, so how do we contact either PET staff or the Adobe staff to ask them these questions.

Hi ...
Most of the things in the downloads section have been donated by people on the forum who kindly shared the things they made with us. If people don't know how to install things in Elements and need help then they tend to ask on the forum and we just talk them through it.
Some of the items have been there for a while and because of the time factor .. even if the original zip file had included install instruction they would probably have been for PSE3. Sadly the install instructions seem to have changed for every version of Elements and PSE6 is the most complicated, in fact we are only now getting to grips with how to install things.
Most things you download (from anywhere) will be zipped to make the files smaller .. so when you download a zip file you need first to unzip it, then install the contents.
... on the Mac I use Stuffit for unzipping.

This is becoming quite a chat.
I spent my $29.95 and bought WIN Zip and extracted the files.
I also tried learning something from the Adobe technical website but it was too much for me to comprehend.
It would seem that I now need to determine the nature of the download and then map that to the appropriate content folder. So for example some time ago I tried downloading anchors without success. If anchors are a shape I need to determine where graphic shapes are stored and place the anchor in the same folder.
Right????

Hi ...
If you mean the Anchor Brushes in the downloads section ... they are Brushes.
You just download them and unzip them.
The the .abr file (thats a brush file) goes in your Elements 6 software folder in Presets>Brushes.
Just pop the file in there and then restart Elements ... :)

PS ... Does Windows not have its own built in unzipper ?? I'm a Mac user and we have a built in one .

I wondered about that too. I'm using Windows XP and all I do to unzip a file is to right-click on it and then choose 'extract all'. An unzip wizard opens up and I just follow the instructions. I've never had to download or purchase any software.
