Tutorial for removing face highlights?

Is there a tutorial on how to remove sun created highlights from peoples faces? Many of my family images are taken at midday in the sun while on vacation so part of the face is "blown out" while the other is in shadow. I would like to fix this but cannot find an easy way. Is there one?

Hi ..

Sadly there isn't an easy way to fix this if the highlights are blown ... you probably will need to clone over the blown highlights and that is a trick job on faces :(
