I have a template with a full psd file and then all of the individual png files of the pieces on the template.
I'm not sure how to start 'filling' in the pieces of the templates with my papers. I've been playing around but it's not getting me anywhere. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
I have the psd file open and bring in a paper. I place that new layer below the layer of the section I'm filling in. But obviously the layer above it is blocking it.
Did I just answer my own question? Do I have to simply turn off the template layer once I get my pieces placed????? Is that what I'm doing wrong?

Hi Michele,
There are probably several ways of doing it, but here's one that works.
Place your paper layer above the .PNG layer you want to use it for. With the paper layer active, press Ctrl-G to group with previous.
Do that for each elements you want to "fill" with a paper.
If you want to move the element around in the image, select both the paper and the element, then click the link icon in the layers palette to link them.
Hope this helps.

Thx Diana!
Here it is!!! Yeah! I love it! Wow! Working with templates is far easier than me coming up with a lo all on my own. I'm so busy worrying about EVERYTHING that I get caught up in it all, but with templates, I'm only working about colors and patterns. Nice!
I love this!!!
Thx again!

Michele - your page is perfect - and what a cute photo. I'm like you - I love working with templates - they make it so easy to make professional looking pages. I seldom do as well when I work from "scratch."
When I work with templates - I use "group" control g to "meld" my papers with the pieces of the page. After using control g - I like that I can select the move tool - move the page around until I get exactly what I want on my section - and then I merge down to make it permanent.
