It's me again with another problem. I am in the process of creating 5 DVD's and rather than keep all the pictures on disk or my computer I uploaded them to "Windows Live" which is free storage offered by Microsoft. Here's my problem, I went to retrieve some of the picture into PS 5.0 to work on them and they've been resized (much smaller). My problem is that when I go to work on them in PS 5.0 and I increase the size to 600x400 and equivalent pixels the picture is distorted. Is there anyway I can get this picture back to the default size for PS 5.0 without sacrificing the quality of the picture.

Kathy,
I tested Windows Live SkyDrive (is that what you are using?) and uploaded a picture, then downloaded it again. The file size and the pixel dimensions are identical before and after. No problem. How are you retrieving your pictures?

I haven't used Windows Live, but it sounds like it automatically downsized your pictures when you uploaded them. Did you upload them to the Photo Gallery or the SkyDrive? When you try to download them, are there any options for downloading the original images? If you're trying to upsize an image without distorting either the width or the height, make sure the Constrain Proportions box is checked when you resize.

I used Windows Live SkyDrive and when I used it last week it was fine but last night when I downloaded pics they were much smaller. When I download, I click on the picture and then it comes up - then I right click and do a "save picture as" right into my pictures folder. Here's a thought, yesterday I was playing with resizing a picture in PS 5.0 and I'm wondering if when bringing a picture into PS it's automatically resizing it, if so, is there anyway I can fix it. When I create a new blank file the size is fine.

I opened SkyDrive and just uploaded the pictures to specific folders. No options for dowloading the original images and I checked the Constrain Proportions box and it didn't help with the quality of the picture.

I just figured it out - thanks to your comment. I went back in again and realized (daaa) that I didn't click the image a second time to enlarge it so when I tried that it worked. Did you just ever have one of those days!

Great! You can also click on Download and then Save in the pop-up box. That gives you the full sized picture.
