Which brings the question.. Has anyone ever used a water scealing kit for their camera (no matter what brand) ? I would be so terrified at the idea of putting my precious digital camera near a glass of water, so imagine a pool or an ocean.. ;-)

And if you have, how good were the pictures ?

Ray, my Canon S100 has an underwater case that you can purchase as an accessory, but it's expensive and I never wanted to spend the money and try it out.

If you pick up this months issue (November) of Digital Photographer, they have an article on Underwater photography that is very interesting. They talk about the strobes. They talk about lighting (or lack of). The best times to take photographs, the fact the the water magnifies the fish, etc. It's very interesting and you might want to check it out. Underwater photography is a whole new ball game.

My cousin and her husband who live in Arizona scuba dive and take under water photography.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion, I used to buy DP when I worked downtown (it's about the only place I could find it). I think I'll pay Downtown a visit today :)

  You mean to tell me I can find something in little "down town" Beaverton that you have to go all the way down town Montreal to get??  I have only bought a couple. It's kind of a hit and miss thing, but it's a good magazine, and I'm considering subscribing. (just because I never know when it's out)

Foreign magazines are not available everywhere in Montreal. Sure, I can find MotorWeek (or is MotorGeek ?) everywhere I look. But those specialized magazines (Mac, Digital Photography, Photoshop User magazines, etc.) I can usually find them in Downtown.

The main reason is that not everyone read English around here. That limits the audience :)

Downtown Montreal is *the* place for shopping, dining and recreation. Like this shop I like very much which sells Asian gadgets (the kind of things that are totally useless but fun to have..) :-D

 Ray, you caught me with the "foreign" bit. Forgot, Montreal, French.
Even in our big Chapters, I have never seen the photoshop magazine.

Ray, I buy most of my books from amazon.ca. It's much cheaper than Chapters, and one day when I went in with a list of books I wanted to look at they didn't have ONE! It's an hour drive to Chapters, so I don't go often. I guess that's a good thing. Personally, I'd rather spend money on a good learning book than go to the show.

I have a waterproof soft casing for my rebelk2 I love it, its like a big plastic bag and it works wonderfully when I am taking pictures in the water but I mean if you wanted to go underwater I would suggest using a hard case but since I am ontop most of the time i use my soft case... Its worth the investment of 100 dollars! If you have a ritz camera anywhere near you like I do you can find them there or are they in florida only??
