Hello All,
I hope this will be one of those "how did I miss that?" instead of "sorry it doesn't work that way" answers. Here goes:
I'm trying to print 4 of the same photo on a page, I got that part OK with the picture package, 4 (4x5) checking the one photo per page box. There was no "use each photo ___ times" option. I am making thank you notes for my sons' birthday gifts and need around 20 (5 pages of 4ea). I can not find a way to say I need 5 pages of this "package".
I know I can take the long way and re-enter the print mode each time until I have my 5 pages, but it seems like I should be able to enter how many total copies I want somewhere :? .
I am using PSE3.
Thank you so much for your help,
Virginia

Hi Virginia ...

Make a folder and open up your image ... duplicate the image 4 times and save the duplicates into a new folder.

When you go into picture package there is a section at the top that says use File ...change that to read folder. Hopefully that will work OK :)

Isn't there a place in the printer driver where you can input the total number of copies.. ?

or

That's where I'd go to specify the number of pages (similar) for your project.

Hope this helps !

Thanks Wendy and Ray,
For some reason, I couldn't access the printer driver with the menu that gives an option of the number of copies. I even had my husband, who is an engineer on printers take a look and he couldn't see the option either. Very strange!
Thanks for the idea of trying printing the folder instead of the file. I'll give it a try or, I guess I could make an new file with 4 images on it and print it from Editor. I think I get the normal printer prompt (that asks number of pages) from there.
I was just hoping I was missing an easy solution.
I hope you both have a very nice day!

PS. Ray, I just noticed the language of your Windows version :), I took a double take, I read a little Italian and understood what I was looking at without really looking at the words. Then I looked at another area and had a "hey, this is in French". We get so used to seeing our own language, it is cool to see familiar things in another language. Europeans run into this much more than I do in the NW of the US.
I also wanted to thank you for your graphic answers. It helps alot to see the real thing. Thanks for the extra effort.

Thanks Wendy,
Even if taking the long way, you do still get done eventually, don't ya?!
Once again I'm very thankful for the time you put into answering questions.
I also got a chance to look at your gallery. Wow! I love the creativity. I keep dreaming of trying some things, but so far have pretty much done straight photo editing. Thanks for sharing such inspiring work!

Hi Virginia ...

Oh that is OK just glad to help ...

Thank you for the comments on my Gallery ... I actually bought Elements to restore photographs but then I found Grant's Challenge and I stated to do that. Its a great way to learn more about the creative side graphics :)

Virginia,

As you can see, I'm in a mixed environment (French and English). My native language is French, my working language is English.

The worst is when I work all day longs, in meeting (95% in English) and then I start to speak English at home... I get some kind of very strange eyes from my friend.. ;-)

Hello again Ray,
It's funny how once you are fluent in more than one language, you can never be sure what is coming out of your mouth, especially if you are tired. Unfortunately, I am only fluent in English, but once while traveling in Spain, I was buying some stamps and my speech was so mixed up with my weak Italian and some Spanish. I thought I was only speaking Spanish, but when they asked if I was Italian, I knew I had not said what I had intended. I was very happy that they even considered that my Italian sounded Italian! My brother has been living in Italy for several months now and when we speak on the phone he uses Italian sentence structure to speak English. Communication is so interesting.
Sorry, I am taking us way off the PSE subject. I can bring it back by saying that one photo is worth a thousand words (in any language) and there we are, back to discussing photography  .
Have a great day!

When we were in Germany a few years back, my wife and aunt started making up their own language.

Each would say a word they thought the other knew (or they thought was the other language) . Then the other thought they were teaching them a word from their own language. They had words for everyting that were neither German or english

It always amazes me just how good your English is :) ... and I do tend to forget that it is not your first language.

I just tried your problem and it works fine for me. I do have to use the printer settings box to make more than one page, very similar to Rays image.

Hello Gary,
Thanks for looking into it. I went through the process again yesterday and just couldn't find a way to get that option. The printer menu looked about like it usually does, except the box that usually has number of pages. Maybe, I'm missing how to access the printer driver in the correct way. I am running Windows XP on a HP pavillion with an HP all-in-one printer. I clicked through all the options when you hit printer from the organizer printing screen.
I have gotten my 5 pages in the path of least resistance. I repeated the process of choosing the file and going through the print 4 (4X5) on a page, 5 times. Not very creative, but it did get it done :) .
About your experience in Germany with your family. I bet that is how languages started and why they keep changing. You need a word to describe something, use a word that is close or make one up, someone else hears it, likes it and starts using it too. Pretty soon they are adding it to a dictionary somewhere :D .
Best wishes to all,
Virginia
