The immortals of Elements Village has bestowed upon me, yes me the glorious honor of giving us mortals the privilege of testing our abilities with a task of altering a magical picture with our own mortal powers!... Do ye accept the task of the gods!.... Um, actually Gary tagged me & we have to use Lightroom on an ordinary photograph....are you guys excited anyway?? I thought so.

The purpose of this weekly challenge is to encourage creative experimentation with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. All Lightroom users are welcome to join in and for those who don't have Lightroom but wish to play, here is the link http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshoplightroom/?promoid=BONSV to the 30-day trial version.

Please make any adjustments you choose to the following image and post your results in this thread. Share how you processed the image and provide information on any develop presets used. All modifications on the image should be made in Lightroom.
Ok everyone grab you magic wands & repeat this spell to complete your task!"Wacomus..Elementis..Renderous"! ...or you could just download the images & take a stab at it.

I can't believe that another week went by. Well here is my feble attempt on this great image. I used the BETA version. Getting to like the way it works and the vignette slider. I always set my white point first using the dropper. If I can't find a good neutral gray/white then I look for a spot where all three numbers are closest. I really boosted the colors ,saturation and contrast (Curves) and went thru the HSL boosting the reds, purples and blues. Then used the sharpening and vignetting tool. Off to PSE-4 for the frames and here we are.
Eddie:)

Edmund I really like the way yours turned out - thanks for mentioning the WB eyedropper - I hadn't even noticed it before!

I went for Nick's bronze preset and adjusted from there but I much prefer yours!

I started with one of the several "300" presets I have. This one is 300v1 by Mike Lao. I know, the movie 300 was about Persians and Greeks and these swords look more medieval. But, I like the look.

I couldn't work with the RAW file for some reason. Windows needed to know what program created it or some such reason...

Awesome work from everyone so far on this shot.Eddie I really like what you did with it:eek:
& Gary, the swords pretty much stay on the wall (I have six of them) but it seems when we have guests over & after a few drinks everyone thinks they know how to handle them:eek:

Pretty much played with tones & sharpness with this one. It's been a while since they been sharpened...get it? I have to lay off the jokes for a bit:rolleyes:
