After you make changes to a photo and you go to save it.. Can you save it somewhere that it will be in your elements organizer? I don't know where to save them too.

One more quick question is it possible to be editing one photo and have the before and after shot right next to each other so you can compare? If so can someone explain how to do that?

You can save the picture anywhere you want and the Organizer will make use of it. I normally save the picture in the same folder as the original, with a different name. When you open a photo for editing from the Organizer, the default is to save it in the same folder under a different name.

You can compare before and after in Quick Edit mode, but not in Full Edit mode.

One way to compare an Editted Photo to the Non-Edit Photo, is before you do anyything Press Ctrl+J to duplicate your photo. Then rename it to Original. Hide it by clicking the eye icon. Then proceed to edit your picture as normal. When you are ready to compare, click the eye on and off to compare.
