In creating a slide show using Photoshop Elements v4 I was trying to add music that I have stored in my Windows Media player.
From the slideshow template, when I choose "Add Media" then "Audio from folder" and select the file in the folder, nothing happens.
I can select a tune from the PSE stock sounds ok but not from my folder of saved tunes.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks in advance for your help :D[/b]

Welcome to the Forums !
... And could it be that the music you've downloaded is, in any way, protected content bought on some Online Music website (something like Napster or Yahoo!) ? Maybe PSE4 doesn't like protected content.

90% of the tracks that I have were copied from CD in .wma format and I did notice that they were protedted files. I retried copying them in .mp3 format and PSE liked that format just fine. Does anyone know if you can remove the protected status of a media file so I don't have to re-rip them all ?????
I'll look at it and see if I can figure it out or recopy some of the tracks to a non protected .wma format. In the meantime however I guess I will re-rip some of my CD's in .mp3.
Oh such is life...LOL

I remember, back in my Windows days, there was a setting to rip the music in WMA and add copy protection, even from your own CD (to prevent, say, kids from giving away the music you buy them, for example).
You might be able to rip in WMA, but uncheck this option about copy protection, for your future CDs.
However, as for removing the protection from a WMA file, I think this lies in the not so legal domain. I know of no way to do so, but perhaps a search on google will help you.
