Hi- I am using PSE4 on my Mac but am wondering how everyone is liking the new version to do digi scrapbooking...... I have read that some are not happy about not being able to resize the main window. Any other thoughts? Worth upgrading? If so, what features are nicer than in PSE4? Just looking for some feedback, TGIF, Judy

I like PSE 6, especially the new selection tools, and I even like the darker interface. (I upgraded from PSE 5, using Windows)
However, there are a few quirky little things that irritate me no end. One is that in order to nudge with the arrow keys, you have to free transform first. The other is that even with both of the "snap to" options unchecked, everything still wants to snap to something.
If anyone has suggestions about how to fix that, I would like PSE a whole lot more!!!

I have only had it for a day-I do like the new colors but right now I do not like that I cannot resize the application window! Maybe there is a good reason why this can't be done but I have no idea! I guess it's like everything else --we just need time to get use to it. I am also a new MAC user . So it's a bit of a learning curve me me on both ends. New program and new computer. :)

Mine came today-woohoo!! I've been waiting and waiting...I cannot wait to install it after class today!
Jancy, I'm curious-with that gorgeous new monitor, why don't you like PSE at full size?
:)

Hi ...
I think that it is worth upgrading ... PSE4 was getting dated and PSE6 is a lot better.

Jancy ...
The Mac version isn't resizable ... but neither was PSE4.
The floating desktop is how we see more than one application at a time and when you click on the new application PSE will hide :)

Carol,
I absolutely love the computer and the monitor is gorgeous!!!!
Carol it's not that I don't like the program full size like that especially when needed-its wonderful. But If I want to have something open like I do on my window pc for example I may like to have one of my photo album programs or a folder with pictures or whatever next to it -I am them able to just drag a photo from that program into CS3 or Elements.
I just feel there are times when I really do not need to have the entire desktop filled with E6 when I am working on something especially if it is a small image. I would have liked the option to resize it if need be.
One way around this I could also have the workspace empty and my program or tutorial open and view it from in there but to me it would be a much less cluttered look to open something up next to it, as oppose to inside on the applications workspace. I just can't understand the purpose and maybe there is a good reason Why E6 on a mac cannot be resized. Seems it is resizable of a windows PC.
I am still curious to know if CS3 is the same on a mac computer. If the application is also not able to be resized.
But I have to admit--photos look fabulous! on a mac especially on this monitor.
Can't wait to hear from you after it's installed :)

Wendy we were typing at the same time. That's what I thought about seeing other apps from in the program. I guess it's all what you get use to and I am so use to having something next to my application not in it. Strange to me but it's something new and I will learn to love it (I hope). So I will have to have my folders in the middle of my desktop to see it through the application as oppose to them being on the side of my desktop?
Is CS3 the same?
Thank you
By the way Wendy-- Do you like the new keyboard or did you give it to your husband? I just purchased the wireless one and mouse and LOVE IT!

The dark interface was a little hard to get used to, after PSE4, but after using it for several months (PC version), I now know where to click to find the down arrow or the fly-out arrows. As with anything new, there is a learning curve to it.
With PSE 4, you could click on a photo in the editing window (as in, making a collage with each photo on a different layer) and it would automatically go to that layer. With PSE 6, you have to cntrl>click to go to that layer. I learned that the hard way!

Hi Jancy:)
It's installed!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! I bought the intel Mac almost the minute it came out two years ago-so it's been a long time coming. I am in heaven for no other reason at this point that the SPEED!! Now I get to play...:D, got Scott Kelby to my right and Barbara Brundage to my left-life is good!
I see what you are saying-I use Spaces, with a button on my tablet set to open Spaces-toggle to iPhoto and just drag the photo I want onto the PSE icon in the dock-bang-it opens. Works for me:)
Also have the new keyboard-love it. For some reason I had trouble with the old one-this one's much better.

I'm glad you both love the keyboard also. I just love typing on--It feels great doesn't it.?
I think Carol I will set up my spaces also. Just hooked up my tablet yesterday so maybe I will do the same with one of the buttons. Great tip! I do have to admit everything really looks great on this computer. Now that I have stopped crying about the full sized application window I am slowing growing to love it!!! Once I get my self in a new routine of working I guess it won't be as bad as I thought .Something new always gets me going!!! :)

Actually, I adore the background:eek:. I think it solidifies the workspace. I also love the gray. But, you know me...love the bells and whistles, and I am sooooo happy to finally have 6 that I'm just diggin' everything!

Carol, rather odd but I do not have that option. I have the window version, do you have the Mac version?

Yes, Bill-it's the Mac version-

Carol ..
One of the problems with the background is that if you wish to sample a colour from a webpage its almost impossible to do if the background is there :)
