I have One Click Wow working on PSE4. I upgraded to PSE6 this afternoon and can't get it to work. I have inserted the disc, drug the One Click Wow icon into the Presets folder for PSE6 and still no luck. Any suggestions? I appreciate any and all help.

Hi JDAA,
Aren't those one click Wow effects Layer Styles? I don't have PSE 6, but in version 5, layer style files go here:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Photo Creations\special effects\layer styles

I have a MAC and don't quite understand where you want me to drag the WOW file. I found Photoshop Elements 6 file and drug it to the Style folder but it still doesn't come up in the program. Sorry I'm not a very computer literate person. Could someone tell me where to go on a MAC? Thanks again so much.

Hi ...
Installing Layer Styles in PSE6 Mac
System>Lib>Application Support>Adobe>Photoshop Elements>6.0>Locale> en-US or your own locale>Photo Creations>Layer Styles
BUT ... they will then appear under Show All. To get them to appear in their own category you have to write an xml file for them
If you want to try doing an xml file let me know and I will post the details for you :)

I'm still having a problem. I was able to follow your so easy directions but I do not see the WOW styles when I open PSE6. I've even shut down and brought my system back up. Could you tell me how to do your next suggestion to get them to show up on their own? Maybe it would work then.
And again thank you so much for the help.

Hi ...
Did you look for the individual styles under Show All ??
If you did and they are not there then you will need to do this:
Close down Elements then Rename the Mediadatabase.db3 to MediadatabaseOLD .db3 ... it is located at System>Lib>Application Support>Adobe>Photoshop Elements>6.0>Locale> en-US and then restart Elements ... the Mediadatabase.db3 will rebuild but you may have to wait a while for it to do so.

Okay I did as instructed and after about 2 minutes of trying to open up PSE6 I got the following message:
"Could not load styles because of a program error"
I clicked "ok" about 4 times and then the program was there and seemed fine except there were no One-Click Wow styles.
I looked back on the hard drive and I have MediaDatabase.db3 with what looks like a white sheet of paper in front of it and I have MediaDatabaseOLD.db3 with what looks like a black rectangle in front of it.
What do I do now? Please hand in there with me.

After doing what you said numerous times, doing what some of the information I found on these forums numerous times.....I've been able to get quite a few of the One-Click Wow features to appear in the PSE6 palette. But the Shadows in the palatte each have their own square but it is dimmed out. And the Styles each have a box but they are white and have a diagonal red line through them. What now? These have been the longest 2 days of my life....at at least it seems like it.

Hi ...
I'm now wondering if those styles don't work in PSE6 ??
I donlt have them so can't check ... perhaps one of the others has installed then already ??

I think I tried helping you in the Yahoo Group, but you wouldn't follow my instructions there which were the same as they gave you here.
Yes, this error does indicate the style is not compatible.
"Could not load styles because of a program error"
So I would install them one at a time to test them.
I am wondering if Wow will now come out with a PSE6 version of them. I'm mostly curious why they aren't compatible and find that interesting.

You must have me mixed up with someone else. It wasn't me that you were helping in Yahoo. I didn't even know Yahoo had helping forums for Photoshop Elements.
I did install the styles one at a time as I did the others but didn't check after each individual one. I was trying absolutely everything. I'll try that now...it's worth a try.
Thank you.

Hi ...
Sounds like others are having similar problems so it does look as if one or more of the styes isn't PSE6 compatible :(

That is a huge coincidence that you would ask about the exact same wow styles and questions as the other person at the exact time.
I am glad you are figuring them out and we are learning that there may be a problem with them. We look forward to hearing from you which ones work and which do not.
