Hi all, trying to follow the Techniques Newsletter Vol. 5, # 1 (Buffalo cover) and the article let there be light. I have PSE5 and the newsletter upgraded to 6.
I've only had ver. 5 for year and wondering if i can still follow the tutorials in the newsletter?? If i upgrade can i still follow the older newsletters for all the ver. 5 tutorials?
We have a 69 GTO convertible and I told hubby I could make it look like the Camaro - but so far that's a big fat lie!

I still have version 5. I've found that, with few exceptions, the tutorials, articles and hints apply to older versions as well as the latest.

For sure you can do the tutorials with version 5. Until a few weeks ago I was doing everything with version 3. You'll come across the odd thing that you can't do but there's always a work around!

I am using version 2 and am managing okay. If you have a question you can pop on here and someone will probably be able to help you. Do try to remember to include what version and operating system you are using when you have a question.
All of the video tutorials are still there. They don't redo them whenever there is an upgrade. So you have access to tuts in v.5 (and 4 and 3, but not 2).
Many people use tutorials written for full photoshop (in its many versions) and manage to adapt them to whatever version of PSE they are using.
It helps if you work on understanding the concepts and don't just follow the steps cookbook fashion. Then it is easier to adapt and substitute alternative steps.
If it bothers you, and you like all your tutorials to be on the same version you have, go ahead and upgrade. However from posts I've read 6 seems extra buggy-at least where Organizer is concerned. I'd avoid upgrading till 7. But then, I am never in a hurry to upgrade.
Also, at least with the older versions, it has never hurt to have more than one on your computer. Just don't try to run them at the same time.
