Good morning,
I joined the forum yesterday and I'm loving it! You guys do beautiful work and I'm thrilled to be amongst such a talented group. I uploaded some pictures last night of an 8x8 scrapbook I'm working on to give to my son for his high school graduation. It covers his three years at boarding school in Pennsylvania, so it will have a lot of pages. It's still in work, be it tweaking pages or waiting for the final several events to take place (prom, graduation). Compared to the beautiful work I've seen here, it seems rather plain. I want it to be masculine and full of pictures so he can reflect on it in college with a smile and fond memories. I'm welcoming all and any ideas to help me tweak what I've done thus far and looking forward to challenging myself to create projects as beautiful and creative as I've seen here!
(you can see a few pages in the gallery)

I think you are on the right track with this scrapbook. You are working on a project for a young adult male and if you start adding cutesy embellishments and fancy papers, it may take on a look that isn't what a young man will want to share with friends.

A way to "spice up" the pages without distracting from the maleness would be to add interesting titles made out of bolder colors, etc.

When making an album for a young adult male, I would subscribe to the "less is more" theory of scrapping.

I like what you've done so far. Good luck with this wonderful project.

Sheila,

I think you have a great eye for scrapbooking and I like what you have started for your son and don't worry you have really done a good job keeping it masculine. He will love it I am sure.

I think they look good! I would add some journaling on the event, date, etc. so it will be remembered in years to come.

I agree. Add some names of friends too if you have them. I think you are on the right track. Looks good.
Thanks Vesta for the link,

Sheila, you've got a great scrapbook going there! Masculine yet full of the things he will want to remember in future years.
