Gotta say that this error (below) is really disappointing. I've had ver 1.0 for about 6 months and was eager to upgrade. Purchased the bundled Photoshop/Premiere Elements package and cannot use Premiere Elements. I'm assuming I must upgrade my pc to have access. Can anyone help?

Here's the error and Adobe's explanation:
Error "...Premiere Elements 2.0 requires a CPU that supports the SSE2 instruction set" when you install

Issue

When you try to install Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0, it returns the error "Your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements. Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 requires a CPU that supports the SSE2 instruction set."

Hi,

What are your system specs?

Here's the rest of the document you are referring to (including a little more info as far as what is going on):

Error "...Premiere Elements 2.0 requires a CPU that supports the SSE2 instruction set" when you install

Issue

When you try to install Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0, it returns the error "Your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements. Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 requires a CPU that supports the SSE2 instruction set."

Solution: Check the system requirements.

Make sure that you install Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 on a computer that meets the minimum system requirements. For a list of system requirements, see the Adobe website at www.adobe.com/products/premiereel/systemreqs.html .

Background information

Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 requires the SSE2 instruction set for real-time previews. The SSE2 instruction set is included with Intel Pentium 4 and later processors, and with AMD Athlon 64 and Opteron and later processors.

Hi. Yes, I've found that info as well. Here are my system specs.

Windows XP
1 gig RAM
AMD 1733 Mhz
Bios Revision 1013, 8/18/2003
SMBIOS Version 2.3
Hard drive #1: 80 gig
Hard Drive #2: 160 gig

I guess my question comes down to what, if anything, can I do separate of upgrading the motherboard. Is it a bios upgrade?

Thanks for any assistance.

Mike

Hey, I had the same problem for Premiere Pro 2.0; does anyone know if you still need that SSE2 thing for 7.0?

Also, is there a big difference between the different versions? Elements vs. Pro and 7.0 vs. 2.0.

Thanks.
