edit in progress

My pictures are loaded into the organizer. I select a picture and go to the editor to edit my picture. When I finish editing my picture I save it.I tried save and save as in the editor. When I go back to the organizor I find a red line across the picture which says edit in progress. I thought I had finished with the edit when I saved the picture in the editor section. What do I need to do to get rid of the red line?

Welcome.
I don't use organiser but what I remember, I hope, is that when you've finished with the photo in editor, you have to close it. Then when you go back to organiser all should be OK.
Hope this is correct.

Kev is right... the red edit in progress band is there beacuse the photo is still open in Editor. If you close the photo in Editor the red band will have gone.

How do you close a picture in the editor? I thought when you save the picture that was the same as closing the editor. Is this not true?

No... to close the image you need to choose File > Close or click on the lower of the two crosses in the top right hand corner of the screen (when you hover over it with the mouse it says "Close Image Window".

You have a picture open.
In the editor.
You save as.
You still have the picture open you must use the close button to close the original.
I think this is what you were asking about if not let us know we will try again.
