I'm still sorting out this whole scrapping concept. I love the look of scrapped pages but most of my photos are of places, not people (I don't have any cute little kids...or big ones, for that matter!). I came across this interesting article.

I like the look of "clutterbug" and "art journal/expressive" but the few pages I've created end up looking more like clean and simple. I wonder if I'm working out of the wrong side of my brain? :D
An interesting read...

There's nothing wrong with clean and simple. Pesonally, I prefer it! To me, that style allows the photo to remain the focus of the layout. Sometimes I see pages that are heavily ladened with embellishments to the extent that one can hardly find the photo. I see myself as a photographer first, so I want the emphasis to be on my photo--for the layout to show off the photo, instead of the photo being minor element in the layout.

An excellent icon to the concept of Clean & Simple Scrapbooking is Cathy Zielske. I use a lot of her layouts for my own scrapbooking as well as clients. Just love her...
Here is her blog (http://www.cathyzielske.typepad.com/)
Enjoy!!!

When I create from scratch, I scrap clean and simple. If I use a template, I am more adventurous - but, still I leave off some of the items the template suggests. And I usually stick to an unadventurous color scheme.
I subscribe to a "less is more" - (is that even an expression ) manner of scrapping.
