I have created several slideshows with titles and some special effects etc. However I've always had a problem with the audio. I've been adding as many as six tracks to the first audio track when I do if I'm not very careful the slides shift and then I need to select them and move them back into place if I'm not very careful doing that some of the audio tracks shift and the problem continues. The delete gap command doesn't work. I just read a comment that each audio track needs to be on a separate audio line in the timeline. such as audio 1, audio2, etc. is that right.

Paul,

For ease of editing yes :) That way when you move one, it won't effect another piece of audio on the same track

Thanks Tami,

Do you know why, when I add audio and as I put the second song in close to or touching the first the video moves on the video track and delete the gap doesn't work.

just for curiosity,

Paul

Paul,

When I use multiple audio tracks this is the way I do it.

I put all the images, videos etc down first.

Then I go in and add the audio for the first section that I want, adjust the length, the volume etc.

Then I add section two on the track below it, starting where the first audio ends, or just slightly overlapping them for a fade out the old, fade in the new type of thing.

I don't have my video portion move that way. I'm not sure what you are doing to cause a movement unless your audio and video tracks are linked..such as a video tape that has audio with it.

Could you describe it a bit more for me and I'll help you try and figure it out :)

Paul,
This happens to me too. I don't know why either. Sometimes the music goes in smoothly and sometimes it moves all the pictures. Go into the space left on the picture line and use "ripple delete". That will delete the space and bring your pictures back where they were. Then ripple delete the entire song you just added. That will get you back to where you were and then you can start again.

Try holding the Control key down when placing your audio.
