You sort of click over to the side to start the video, but it was very small on the webpage, probably better to open in itunes, haven't tried yet

Hi
Wendy, the tut was part of the TV show, about 3/4 of the way through. I also went through iTunes and got the video (free, BTW) and the screen is actually a little smaller on iTunes than on the website, however the video quality is really good. I couldn't see the before and after on Scott's sharpening tip, but the tutorial was easier to see and follow. Jury is out on whether Elements users with no full blown or CS experience will really benefit, but it's fun to watch.
Tami-I know that you can't be all things to all people (even tho you try!), I'm sure that there will be stuff for Elements users to take advantage of. As I said, it would be great if Matt's tut could be adapted, it was very cool. Do these guys ever sleep??
Don't you think that Matt looks like Freddie Prinze, Jr? Ah, the danger of moving pictures...

I liked the page curl technique one. To late to try it tonight (Amazing Race is on soon), but maybe tomorrow. I might be able to work something out. (boy aren't I feeling confident!). We did learn how to do page curl way back when..................
I wondered if the itunes player would be better. I updated my quicktime but deleted the player since I have enough bloody players on here as it is! Since you say it's smaller, I won't even bother. The video only stopped once on me.

By default, the videocast plays in the "song artwork" and "video viewer" pane in the lower-left corner of the iTunes window (click the "Show or hide song artwork and video viewer" button if it's not displayed). If the bar above the pane displays "Selected Song," click the bar so that it displays "Now Playing." To see the video play in a separate window, click the video while it is playing in the pane.
I am assuming everyone is familiar with how to subscribe and download audio podcasts. The video podcast works the same way. I resized my window so that it was similar to the window size used in the online classes.

Yup, I remember that Wendy!!
I've decided to stay home nad have me time today, and even had another mask idea, I might play around with. Now that the one is done there is no pressure and who knows the second one might turn out better. If nothing else, my daughter's boyfriend will be thrilled. He seems to like being my model.

Hey everybody,
Okay... two things.
First, I'll try to get a warp tutorial out. However, while you can fake it in Elements, there is an aspect of it that just can't be repeated. Notice how when I warped an edge and dragged it over the photo itself it made it looked like you could see the back of the photo? That would be hard to accomplish in Elements. I'll see what I can come up with though.
Next, I've never been tool I look like Freddie Prinze before. I'll take it as a compliment though seeing as I think I have about 5-10 years on him.
:D
Thanks again. Glad you enjoyed the TV show.

Matt, I know you can do it. Take that corner. Make it into a selection and fill it with grey! Maybe it might need a little use from the gradient tool to make it look like it's bending. How am I doing so far? Will this have to be a two parter? Can I work for you?
Okay, I'm going back to my seat at the back of the class beside Gary! He's been pretty quiet and well behaved since he stuck his Wacom pen in Brice's head.

Here is my attempt at Matts tutorial. I used the vizrus 4 plug in to make the page curls. Played around a lot to get it.

KT, great effect. I would fill in those page corners with an off white or grey though so that they look like the back of the photo. You did a terrific job!

I have to be quiet...Wendy took my toys.
Guess what I got????? Flippin' pink eye. I noticed something in my eye on Monday but firgured it would work itself out. It was worse on Tuesday so I went to a clinic and and the doc said I had pink eye. Now I have drops, and the eye is feeling quite a bit, better but still really red

Thanks Pualine, I had the page curls that way at first. They come up with a gray gradient but when i watched the tutorial again I noticed Matt had part of the picture in the page curl so I did some outlining and cloning to try to recreate it.

Hi KT. I just find that the hard work of the effect kind of gets lost when the picture is on the curl part. Of course I didn't see it the other way you did it, so maybe this way looks better.
Gary, you poor boy. I have never had pink eye but I did have a stye in my eye once and that was horrible. Hopefully it will clear up quickly.

When I had it ... oh it was awful. I seem to remember that they gave me cream to put in my eye (from a tiny little tube) and that wasn't nice either.
Hope you feel better soon :)

Thanks Matt, that would be great! It was a compliment...years, schmears... :D !
KT, that's awesome-can you give us some info on the plug-in?
Poor Gary-pink eye is indeed the slang name for conjunctivitis- a nasty, nasty infection. I've caught it three times from my little darlin's at school...occupational hazard, I guess. Make sure you follow the the doctor's orders to a "T", this can be tough to get rid of. Hope you're feeling better soon, and yes driving blind can be thrilling!
gheart-thanks for the info, it did open on the larger black screen, and I could drag out the corner a bit to make it bigger-not too big though because it degraded pretty quickly-thanks!

If not, feel free to come to Flordia and drive blind...people here do it all the time..... I swear half the population drives with their eyes closed, you'd be fine here :)

As long as I can see the masks on friday..all is good. Hope I don't get carded trying to get in.
