Anybody know how to pause a video in elements 4 for a couple of seconds then carrying on with the video?

Hope that makes sense!

Go to the Timeline and stretch out the clip or apply the time stretch to the area you want to pause :) There is also a freeze frame option if that is what you are trying to do.

I do not know if you really want to use the Time Stretch Tool for a pause, a slow down maybe.

The Freeze Frame option would seem the way to go and offers several creative opportunities for your purposes. Basically, you would have your video on the Timeline, move your Timeline indicator (CTI) to the frame where you want the pause, click on the Freeze Frame icon (bottom right of Monitor). Check out the dialog for the options to edit this freeze frame further in Photoshop Elements 6. But, for now, just click insert. And, the freeze frame inserts at the point where your CTI is placed.

Two options, as I see it, leave the freeze frame inserted in the video portion. Then you will pause of the video, but the no audio. Or you could place the freeze frame onto video track 2 immediately above the original frame on video track 1. Then you will have paused video, but audio will be unaffected.

Check it out and see if any of that works for you.
