I am creating a slideshow for a DVD creation and I wanted to see if there was a way to allow my pics (no matter how many) to sync-up with the music that I am going to include? Was not sure if "detect beats" would force the synchronization to occur or not... Also, where can I look for some good info on Detect Beats??

I will search around for more information or describe the feature myself, but for now check out the "Audio" video in the Learning Center at http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com

Great!! I forgot about those videos and it was very helpful. One other question that I had was related to pictures brought over from PSE 6.0. I brought them straigh into my organizer at the highest quality either 6.0 or 8.0 MP. Do you need to be concerned about the image size when making slideshows?

You would want to keep an image's pixels dimensions not to exceed 1000 x 750 pixels.
Take a look at this classic FAQ
http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bb8822c
Let me know if you are comfortable with that information.

I have not reviewed the FAQ yet, but based upon what you wrote, I guess I would have to resize each image that I want to include? Is there an easy way to do this especially if I will be using several pics?

Look into Photoshop Elements 6 Editor, File Menu/Process Multiple Files and its Setup Dialog.
Before you do that, create two folders on the Desktop, one named Originals, the other Resized. Plan your strategy accordingly if you have a mix of landscape and portrait. Maybe do the different orientations separately.
Then in the Setup Dialog, for Source, browse and designate the Desktop "Original Folder", for Destination, browse and designate the "Resized Folder", followed by filling in the rest of your details.
I would do a mini test run for the big project.
