The easiest way is to go "Applications" and open "Font Book". Under file you will see the option to "add font." You can also double click on the new font file and font book will open and you will see the option to add the new font. Then you will be able to use the font with any application in which you can choose fonts.
I hope this helps.

Good advice-once you open Font Book, have it stay in the dock-that way, as you download fonts you can just drag the .tff file to the icon on the dock and it will load into Font Book. The coolest thing about Font Book is that it tells you if a font is suspicious and warns you about installing it. I ALWAYS listen to that warning and trash the font if it gets a warning. In Font Book you can also create folders to help organize the fonts, for example I have a folder called "Carol's" that separates the stuff I go get from what came with the machine. The other thing that I love about Font Book is the ability to open it while I am working on something and view my fonts instantly and BIG enough to really see them, it's an awesome app:cool:

Tx for the tip Carol. I didn't realize I could add fonts by dragging to the icon. Aren't macs sooo cool?

Maybe I am missing something but but it is super easy to do.
When I download a font all I do is double .ttf click on the icon in the Downloads window and it brings up a preview box of the font. In the bottom right hand corner of this box is a button "Install Fonts" and click on that and the fonts are installed. If there are multiple fonts then double click on the folder in the Downloads window and it will open up the folder and then double clicking on the.tff will again bring up the preview box.

OMG! I LOVE this MAC!
Thank you! I have my font book on my doc and I love that I can just refer to it when I will be looking for a cool font for my pse works. THANK YOU!

hi everyone. I have a follow-up question to this if you all don't mind please.
I've downloaded a bunch of fonts and everything seems to be working fine that I can tell from the ones I've tested, but when I'm in Word or Excel and I click on FONT in the menu bar, the font list opens up and I see that a number of the fonts are blacked out.
I thought this would mean they are not available, but if I click on them, I can still use them. The title of the font also shows up in the font window thingy (that's the real technical term), but without the black-out. Anyone know what that black-out could be?
I'm going to try to do a screen shot for you to see what I'm talking about.
tia!

Hopefully you can see that OK. The first one is showing the black-out, the second one is showing that I've selected one which is blacked out in the list yet in the font description, it shows up fine. Any idea?

Well … I haven't seen such and animal.
To set the ground work I tend to use Pages 08 but I do have Office 2004 and did use it often when I had Pages 06. This is only a thought but … in Office 2004 if I make a change to the system, while I have Office open, it doesn't pick up the change and creates some unpredictable results until I reload Office. Try quitting Office completely, not just having it idle on the Dock, and try relaunching it and see if that works.

I've tried everything but still remains. I'll wait to see what happens with PSE when I get it finally and go from there. Was just trying to make sure I'm ready to go right away.
Thx everyone!
