Importing in Lightroom

I just received Lightroom & CS3 Extended last week. By the way if you’re a student or have kids in school you can get this bundle at Academic superstore for $379.95. Anyway, I've never used Lightroom before, so I'm really a newbie. I have a Canon 40D and shot some pictures last week in RAW. I downloaded them to my computer from my camera. I then went to import them into Lightroom, but it keeps telling me something about the color format not matching or something like that. Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong or what I'm doing wrong?

Hi Karenjean make sure you update the latest version of LR to 1.3 Initially, it did not have official support for the 40D though RAW and JPEGs from the camera. Official support for the 40D as well as the 1Ds Mark III was added with Lightroom 1.3, available as a free update from Adobe.
