View Full Version : Nudging a layer in PSE6

I'm trying to follow one of Wendy's tutorials on creating a book. I can't get the part to work that duplicates the pages so that they're offset a little. Her instructions say:

"That is our basic book page but we do need more than one page so lets replicate it. Select the move tool, hold down the Shift key and the Alt key (Mac option key) and then press the up arrow key ten times. That not only replicates the layer but the up key nudges the layers slightly out of line and it should look like a stack of pages."

Is this something that won't work in PSE6 or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for your help!
Darlene

There is a change in v6....the only way the nudge will work is if you have it selected with Control T. I don't know how this will effect your instructions. You can send a private message (PM) to Wendy and she will gladly help you do this step.

Good luck!

Thanks Es ...

I just send Darlene a pm :)

Your instructions work perfectly with this tutorial ... its just the bug that is stopping it working and Control T sorts that out :)

Wendy,

I don't think you can copy the layer using the Transform tool. Isn't that what the tutorial does, using SHIFT+ALT in combination with nudge of the Move tool, to get a "stack" of pages for the book?
