Hi, i just import about 2300 photos from my hard disk but they were divided into arguments (subfolders).
This dinstiction was not respected during the import process and now all the pics are divided into month and year.
Is there any way to delete everything and create same albums as on my subfolders ?
Sorry for my English, hope u understand.

How did you import them? If you used a "get from files and folders" they should still be in their original folders. Have you tried looking at them in folder view? It sounds like you are using date view.

From folder view you can make a matching tag or select to make a matching album.

Although the Slater Organizing book has not been updated for version 6, you should read the book excerpts on photofanatic.com. This is the best explanation for Organizer that is available. Worth reading the free bits even if you don't want to buy the book.

Thanks Karin, i got it but know i wish some more ...lol
I dont care about Tagging a photo but for me its important to create many albums as my subfolders with the same name.
Like tags, is there any way to automatically associate a subfolder to a new album ?
Thanks a lot

In my version I can click the little folder icon in the banner to select all the photos in the folder, then choose new in the collections pane and enter a name for the collection. Then drag the collection icon to the photos (or the photos to the icon).

Collections are what they used to call Albums.

I don't think there is a way to automatically make Albums from folders.

You might want to learn more about tags. The instant tag feature might be able to do whatever it is you are trying to do with Albums. Tags give you more searchability. Also, there is nothing wrong with having the same group of photos in a tags and an albums. You would have searchability with the tag and order with the album.
