There must be a simple way to do this but I haven't found it.
Thanks for your continued assistance and patience.

Right click on the clip and select Rotate, or go to the clip properties and you can also rotate there under the Position properties :)

My thanks again. I had tried right clicking on the image but it turns out that the Rotating option only comes up if you right click on the clip in the timeline and I must have been trying everywhere other than that.
You are a hero!

Hi Judy,
Sounds like everything is moving along with your Premiere Elements 4. Have you gotten to your clips from the camera yet?
But, focusing in on the question at hand....basically same answer as already given, but....
In the Timeline view, you can highlight (select) the clip on the Timeline, right click it, and then select Rotate. But, you will get only two options: Rotate 90 degrees right or Rotate 90 degrees left.
If you bring in the Properties Panel (Windows Menu/Properties), go to Motion, expand Motion, and scroll down to Rotate, you will have more options:
1. Rotate 90 degrees right
2. Rotate 90 degrees left
3. To right is a place to type in the number of degrees other than 90
4. The neat part is that you can keyframe your rotation in this area. If you have not gotten to keyframing, please put it to the top of your to do list. How tos to follow if necessary.
To be continued....

Add on....
Properties Panel has many features. Besides Windows Menu/Properties, you can right click the clip and select Show Properties to bring up the Properties Panel.
You can also get at it by clicking the Effects tab at the top of the interface and then clicking on Edit Effects (without actually adding any effects).
Check it out.
