PSE 6 Crashes

Recently automatic windows updated my computor. since then everytime I try to open PSE6 (either on or off line) I get an error message and PSE just closes. What can I do? shall I remove and reinstall

Hi John;
Sorry about your problem... It looks like microsoft got you... I would
suggest backing out the 'fix' from microsoft, turn off auto update for a
few weeks and hope that the bug gets fixed....
